Learning Activities

1. Interview people from different cultural backgrounds, income levels or education levels and discover what they consider to be the meaning of the term health. Ask them to describe a 'healthy' person, highlight the differences between a 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' person or even explain the concept of health or the topic of health.

2. Compare your interviews with each person.
a. How are they similar and different?
b. What factors could account for these differences?
c. Why is your concept of health different to that of others?

3. Enter the question “Why do people give different meanings of health?” into ChatGPT or something similar. Evaluate this answer. Can ChatGPT give you references for its answer or sources of information? Compare and contrast (similarities and differences) different meanings of health with the definition provided by ChatGPT. Which answer is more reliable and why?
